Bill No. 7275 on countering pressure on business

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the government bill No. 7275 on countering pressure on business.

A total of 312 deputies voted for amendments to a number of laws on ensuring the rights of participants in criminal proceedings during pre-trial investigation, a LIGA.net correspondent reports.

The bill provides for the establishment of a legally justified and mandatory requirement for video recording of a court decision to conduct searches and the inadmissibility of making such a decision without a lawyer. It also provides for a ban on the seizure of original financial documents, servers, computers and phones of entrepreneurs during searches and video recording of such searches. It prohibits the unfounded opening of the same cases and establishes the responsibility of law enforcement officers for unlawful actions against entrepreneurs.

The previous day, bill No. 7275 was unanimously supported by the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada. As a reminder, in September a meeting was held in Kyiv with the participation of the President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister, people’s deputies and the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

One of the initiatives announced during the meeting was the “Masks Show Stop” initiative. Its initiators called for an end to the pressure exerted by law enforcement agencies on entrepreneurs.
